Cosmic Souls have released a new track called “My Room”. The song takes a darkly humorous look at the education system and the way we are taught from an early age to fit into society.
The band describes the track as a kind of calm, educational guide for the “modern, obedient citizen”. Underneath the dry humor is a sharper message about conformity, performance, obedience and the loss of creativity.
Cosmic Souls have always followed their own path. The three members met years ago and connected over their shared frustration with the music and culture around them. Working independently and with limited resources, they have built a sound that moves between melancholic moods, experimentation and polyrhythmic chaos.
Their music is aimed at outsiders, misfits and anyone who doesn’t feel particularly at home within the system. “My Room” fits naturally into that approach, combining a laid-back atmosphere with a rather uncomfortable subject.
With “My Room”, Cosmic Souls continue to do things on their own terms, without worrying too much about fitting in.
