Bordeaux-based post-metal band Matrass have released their brand new single “VIYOGA” on March 5, 2026. With this intense and atmospheric track, the quintet once again showcases their distinctive blend of heaviness, elegance, and emotional depth.
Formed around two shared passions: post-metal and modern metal, Matrass craft powerful compositions that balance density with nuance. Drawing inspiration from bands such as The Ocean and Psychonaut, the group builds immersive soundscapes driven by dynamic instrumentation and the unique vocal performance of frontwoman Clémentine Browne, whose clear and saturated vocals give the band its unmistakable identity.
“VIYOGA” is a heavy and atmospheric track. Listeners who enjoy bands like Brutus, Psychonaut, The Ocean, Cult of Luna or Julie Christmas should definitely give this band a listen.

Matrass is a quintet from Bordeaux united by two shared passions: Post-Metal and Modern Metal.
With compositions in the vein of The Ocean or Psychonaut, the band carefully balances density and elegance, supported by a clear/screamed female vocal that gives them their distinctive sound. Through these compositions, the lyrics express a relationship with the world shaped by both wonder and anxiety, exploring the individual’s inner conflicts and personal evolution.
Following their EP Inner Wars (2022), national exposure (support shows for Perturbator, Ingrina, Hypno5e, Sun Brutal Pop, and appearances at Festival 666 and Les Lunatiques), and their first album Cathedrals (2024), Matrass continues its artistic evolution. The band unveiled Gaslighting Games (2025) and released Viyoga in March 2026: a single that marks a shift toward a more direct modern metal sound, driven by particularly refined production.
