Op vrijdag 6 juni 2025 zal Stadsweide in Maastricht het decor zijn van een even spectaculaire als unieke setting. Die dag geeft het Noors/Deens/Duitse ‘enigmatic ritual collective’ Heilung daar een openluchtconcert onder de veelzeggende naam “Anda Fardha”, wat vrij vertaald zoveel betekent als “het einde van een reis”. Dit exclusieve Benelux concert is voorlopig de laatste kans om dit mystieke gezelschap te zien, aangezien Heilung zich voor nog onbepaalde tijd terugtrekt.
Heilung: “Life is a journey and all journeys end at one point. After several years of extensive touring, Heilung has decided to retreat for a while. Heilung’s work has strong notations of traditional shamanism. Shamans retreat, sometimes very long, to be reunited with their power, their spirits; to recharge. If they would constantly work, they would burn out, lose contact to themselves, their helping entities and their light. Heilung retreats now. It will vanish from the stages, the roaring drums will be silent and the ecstatic dance is over. It will go to sleep, rest for a time and return stronger than ever before.“
Specials guests van formaat
Als very special guest neemt Heilung de Mongoolse folkmetal-formatie The HU mee, plus het eigenzinnige Franse ‘blackgaze’-duo Alcest. Pagan/neofolk-project Sowulo (NL) en NiNi – de in 2024 opgerichte band van de Taiwanese supergitariste Nini die meer dan twee decennia besteedde aan het beheersen van traditionele Chinese volksinstrumenten – zijn daarnaast nog als support acts toegevoegd.
