Belgian alternative metal newcomers Hope as a Weapon have released their latest single, “The Dark”, alongside a new visualizer available now on YouTube. You can watch the visualizer via the following link.
The track continues the band’s blend of modern alternative metal and melodic rock influences, combining heavy riffs, atmospheric production and hook-driven songwriting. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Bad Omens, Sleep Token and Bring Me The Horizon, Hope as a Weapon aim to bridge the gap between contemporary metal and more accessible alternative sounds.
“The Dark” arrives with a visualizer featuring artwork by Eiwa, further expanding the song’s dark and immersive aesthetic. The release follows the band’s recent efforts to establish themselves within the growing modern alternative metal scene in Belgium.
Crowdfunding
Alongside the release, Hope as a Weapon have also launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the next stage of the project. After a first year that included an EP release, live shows, competition selections and wins in events such as DRF and Metal Kombat, as well as a finalist position for Alcatraz Festival, the band is now moving into a new phase of development.
That next step includes work on a second EP, as well as expanded visual production. This involves music videos, lyric visualizers, and collaborations with visual artists and painters whose work aligns with the band’s universe. According to the band, this direction requires significant resources, which the crowdfunding campaign is intended to help support. You can check out the crowdfunding via the following link.
