Debuutplaat The Magus verschijnt ook als box

De laatste dag van oktober in dit jaar zal in het teken gaan staan van de release van de debuutplaat The Magus. Die eerste plaat van dit Griekse gezelschap gaat Βυσσοδομώντας heten. Dat album zal gaan verschijnen via The Circle Music.

Om deze release extra body te geven, komt er ook een zeer gelimiteerde box van dit album uit. Bij die versie van de debuutplaat van The Magus komen ook vele extra’s kijken. Dat is ook te zien op het plaatje hieronder. Wees wel snel, want er verschijnen er maar 130. De pre-order is gestart, check daarvoor deze link.

Reactie op de box-set

“As you can see we have decided to already open the pre-order for the Limited Box FIRST before any other format. This was my personal decision, because the release is special to me for a couple of reasons. Not only is the exclusive artwork an esoteric reinterpretation of the ‘Serptagram’ done by none other than Zbigniew M. Bielak, the painting on the canvas, depicting the Arch Angel Lucifer in Byzantine hagiography style, is done by the renowned comic artist Malk Giamalakis Nikos! Both of these great artists are fans of NECROMANTIA ’s music and it was a huge honor to work with the both of them. Last, but certainly not least; this box is also strictly limited to 130 copies! I want to give the option to our true disciples to be able to get this first before anything else!”

“I can only say that is the most organic album I ever made guiding all my black metal influences to a truly horrific, nightmarish path. Dark melodies unite with feverish worlds to give birth to majestic, aristocratic horrors. We had the pleasure to work with artists like KING DUDE, IDVex (1/2 SOUTHERN NORTH) and Hel Pyre (W.E.B.) as guest vocalists in order to enhance the atmosphere and the ritualistic parts of the music. It is also the first time in my musical journey where I used live choir arranged by Christos Antoniou (SEPTIC FLESH). And to finalize, the recordings took place at PENTAGRAM studio with the infamous George Emmanuel (LUCIFER’S CHILD) behind the mixing table and the production. Like Serpents from the Depths we rise!”

Over The Magus

Misschien zegt de naam The Magus niet direct wat, maar waarschijnlijk Necromantia wel. Die band werd in 1989 opgericht door Baron Blood en The Magus. De eerste was de bassist en kwam in 2019 te overlijden. Daarna is er nog een album verschenen, om de boel af te ronden.

Daarna is de focus van The Magus op zijn nieuwe project gegaan. Daarom is The Magus dus al wel een echte veteraan in het vak, maar kan het toch zijn dat men hier een debuutplaat gaat verwelkomen. Kortom, ook de Griekse zon blijft een bakermat voor de metal.
