Na haar debuut-EP Souvenirs deelt alternatieve folk-rockartiest Gigi Gold haar levendige uitvoering van de Jefferson Airplane klassieker “Somebody to Love”. Die track is nu uit via Marshall Records. Fans kunnen hier meer info vinden en de track streamen.

“This song was originally added to the live set on a whim. I wanted something that matched the energy and intensity of ‘Why Should I’. This song was the most natural fit,” laat de zangeres weten. “Grace Slick is such a powerhouse vocalist, and it’s important to me to honour the female rock stars who paved the way for those of us still being pushed into the shadows”.

“I was not keen on recreating the song but wanted to give it my twist. I didn’t spend much time listening to the original before taking it to the band. This is my first time properly recording a cover, and in many ways, there’s so much more pressure to get it right, as this song is so loved and recognised”.
