De Schotse black/thrashband Hellripper (sinds kort onderdeel van het roster van Century Media Records) heeft een nieuwe single uitgebracht: “Kinchyle (Goatkraft And Granite)”.
De track is vanaf woensdag 22 oktober te beluisteren op alle streamingdiensten en wordt vergezeld met een videoclip, geregisseerd door David Gregory.

OVER HELLRIPPER
Hellripper is het soloproject van gitarist en zanger James McBain. Sinds hij de band in 2014 oprichtte, heeft hij zich ontwikkeld tot een van de drijvende krachten binnen de internationale extreme en black metal. Zijn muziek combineert de rauwe energie van vroege Metallica en Venom met een eigen, onmiskenbaar Schotse identiteit.
Met platen als Coagulating Darkness (2017), The Affair Of The Poisons (2020) en Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags (2023) wist Hellripper een stevige reputatie op te bouwen in de underground. Over dat laatste album schreef Metal Injection: “Bursts with growth and a mature exploration of darkness and eeriness while maintaining that original high-octane burning”.
Frontman en creatieve spil James McBain vertelt:
“’Kinchyle’ is the McBain clan’s war cry and a fitting first glimpse at the upcoming album.
Lyrically, the track was inspired by my experience growing up in the North-East of Scotland in Aberdeen (the Granite City), and reflects on what it’s like to feel trapped in a certain environment. I wanted to show a side of Scotland that is not necessarily the magical “postcard” that a lot of people picture when thinking of the country.
Musically, the track is very “Hellripper-sounding”, and is the most “rocking” song that I’ve written in quite a while, though there are a few new elements in there that I had fun experimenting with. The track was influenced by the likes of Tank, Running Wild and Motörhead, as well as bands such as Opeth and Witherscape.
All in all, a very personal song both in terms of lyrics and musical influences. Hope you enjoy it… All Hail the Goat!”

In 2026 trekt Hellripper, samen met Schizophrenia en Sarcator, door Europa ter promotie van het nieuwe album, dat naar verwachting in het voorjaar van dat jaar zal verschijnen.
