Nieuwe plaat In Flames in februari uit

De voortekenen waren er al, maar nu is het officieel: In Flames komt met een nieuwe plaat. Dat album zal Foregone gaan heten en verschijnt op 10 februari. Ja, dat is inderdaad in het nieuwe kalenderjaar. Gelukkig heeft de band al wel wat moois voor hen die echt niet kunnen wachten.

Van de nieuwe plaat heeft In Flames namelijk ‘Foregone Pt.1’ online gezet. Dat nummer is het eerste deel van het tweeluik op de gelijknamige plaat. Naast de visualizer, die hieronder te zien is, is de track ook op de streamingsdiensten te vinden. Check het nummer hier.

Reactie

Frontman Anders Fridén zegt: “Going into the Foregone sessions, we wanted to make a record that was heavily guitar-driven, and that had a strong foundation between the bass and drums. We still approached our songwriting the same way, as we always have, as a juxtaposition between melody and aggression. That’s the DNA of our music. From the lyrical end of things, there was no shortage of inspiration to draw from, especially the concept of time.”

Hij vervolgt: “Humanity as a whole was forced to slow down and take breather. In that break, many of us spent time evaluating and reprioritizing. Time is a constant, but what do we do with it and how we perceive it varies. Especially now looking at where the world seems to be headed faster than ever before.”

Fridén eindigt met: “It’s crazy that after everything we are still here and on our fourteenth album. I feel that we’ve found a great balance between the past, the present and the future with Forgone. This is a new era of In Flames!”

‘Foregone Pt.1’ is niet de eerste single van de nieuwe plaat van In Flames. Eerder verschenen ‘The Great Deceiver’ en ‘State Of Slow Decay’ online. Toen was nog niet bekend dat Foregone de nieuwe release van deze toonaangevende Zweden zou zijn. Het album is al in de pre-order op deze locatie.

EUROPESE TOURNEE

De Zweedse band zal in het najaar dus ook op Europese tour gaan. In Flames zal tijdens die tournee Nederland en België ook aandoen. Op 6 december spelen de heren in de 013 te Tilburg, om een dag later neer te strijken in de AB te Brussel. Kaarten kunnen via die zalen bemachtigd worden.
