Ølyp Premiere Video for New Single “Molden” Ahead of Debut Album I(m)MORTAL

Leestijd: 2 minuten

French progressive post-metal duo Ølyp have unveiled a new music video for “Molden,” the latest single from their upcoming debut album I(m)MORTAL, set for release on September 25 via Klonosphere/Season of Mist.

Following the previously released “The Human Error,” “Molden” further introduces Ølyp’s expansive and atmospheric sound, combining the cinematic weight of post-metal with the technical precision and intensity of modern progressive metal.

Formed in the Norwegian fjords before eventually relocating to France, Ølyp consists of guitarist and bassist Thibaud Lépicier and drummer David Annenkoff. The duo channel their fascination with the conflict between human progress and ecological collapse into dense, emotionally charged compositions built around towering riffs, intricate rhythms and atmospheric textures.

Their sound draws influence from bands such as The Ocean, Psychonaut, Russian Circles and Night Verses, while Ølyp maintain a distinct identity that balances progressive complexity with a strong cinematic sensibility.

“Molden” offers another glimpse of the musical world explored throughout I(m)MORTAL, an album that aims to be as immersive as it is technically ambitious. The record also features guest contributions from violinists Pauline Henric and Zoé Sallefranque, violist Sylvain Rullier, and cellist Eugénie Ursch, adding an additional layer of orchestral depth to the duo’s expansive arrangements.

The album was recorded by Chiaran Verheyden and David Castel, with Verheyden also handling the mixing and mastering. The artwork comes courtesy of Journal of Emptiness, while the album’s photography was provided by James K. Barbosa.

With I(m)MORTAL, Ølyp are laying the foundations for an ambitious new chapter, merging progressive metal, post-metal and cinematic textures into a sound that is both cerebral and visceral.

I(m)MORTAL will be released on September 25 via Klonosphere/Season of Mist. Pre-orders are currently available via the following link.
