Die onuitspreekbare naam gaat namelijk ook gewoon door als Eximperitus. Via Willowtip Records komt Eximperitus met hun nieuwe langspeler, Meritoriousness of Equanimity.
Eximperitus
Eximperitus is een death metal band uit de Belarussische hoofdstad Minsk. De groep is in 2009 ontstaan en heeft in hun carrière al meermaals tongbrekende titels op de markt gebracht. De eerste langspeler uit 2016 had een titel die bijna kon doorgaan als een roman. Gelukkig hield de band het op de tweede langspeler korter. Die plaat uit 2021 heette gewoon Šahrartu.
Meritoriousness of Equanimity
‘Twelve Centuries of Triumph of the Third Kingdom: the Idea of the Inner Creation of the Aristocratic Character of the Leader and the Process of Tempering Him in the Crucible of Trials in the Face of the Exaltation of Life as an Ode to the Heroic Ideals of Future Civilizations’ en ‘Molecular Disintegration of an Unattainable Solitary Will in a Vessel of Wisdom…as a Result of the Soul’s Aspiration to Break the Summed Up Set of Delusions of Reason… in the Course of a Personal Experience of Accepting the Imperfection of the World and Proving that Time Gets Rid of the Fragile and Leaves Invulnerable’. Daarmee zijn direct de twee kortste tracks aangehaald. Beide intermezzo’s duren langer om uit te spreken dan te genieten.
De overige zeven tracks op Meritoriousness of Equanimity laten horen dat de Belarussen van Eximperitus de death metal in de breedte in de vingers hebben. De eerste twee tracks neigen naar de brute death metal. Daar tegenover staat dat men in bijvoorbeeld ‘Finding Consistency in the Fourth Quadrant of Eternity’ juist de meeslepende kant van de death metal aan bod laat komen. De gitaar krijgt op deze plaat ook meermaals een mooi podium. Daardoor krijgt de zware death metal toch wat frivoliteit.
Wie van death metal houdt, heeft aan Meritoriousness of Equanimity een mooi visitekaartje van Eximperitus. Deze band weet wat het is om death metal in de breedte voor te schotelen, om zwaar te laten headbangen én de luchtgitaar erbij te laten pakken.
