On June 20th at Sawaro’s show at Brasserie de la Mule, the band brought their “Hopcore” sound to the stage with a set that hit hard and stayed dense from start to finish. The Brussels-based group fused heavy, low-end ambient metal with clear ’90s influences, pushing the room into a thick, physical wall of sound.
What really elevated the show was the light design, spectacular throughout, constantly shifting the atmosphere and locking perfectly with the dynamics of the set. It gave the performance an almost cinematic intensity without ever feeling overdone. A big part of that balance came down to FOH engineer Benoît Polo, who did an outstanding job shaping the mix: huge and crushing when it needed to be, but still clear enough for every layer to cut through.
The result was a show that felt massive, controlled, and fully immersive from the first note to the last. Check the photo report of their show below. Seth Abrikoos took the photos.
