Classless Act eert David Bowie dubbel

Elke reden om David Bowie aan te halen, moet benut worden. Het zichzelf telkens opnieuw uitvindend muzikaal genie laat zijn sporen nog steeds na in de muziek. Dat blijkt ook nu weer. Classless Act eert David Bowie met hun nieuwe release. Dat doet de band zelfs dubbel.

Classless Act heeft namelijk een single met een dubbele A-kant waarop David Bowie centraal staat. De band speelt namelijk twee klassiekers geheel op haar eigen versie. Het betreft ‘All The Young Dudes’ aan de A-kant en aan de andere A-kant vindt men het iconische ‘Starman’.

“When we learned there was a documentary about the creative, spiritual and musical journey of the great David Bowie, we wanted to pay our tribute, acknowledge his genius, his artistry, his influence and our gratitude to him” zegt vocalist Derek Day van Classless Act.

“We’ve always had a few cover songs in our set; in the beginning, it was out of necessity as we didn’t have enough of our own songs. Now it’s our choice. Whether it was Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Guns N’ Roses, Queen, or many others, they represent a road map of our influences, our roots… and how we’ve gotten ‘here’ musically. David Bowie played a major role”.

De vorig jaar doorgebroken rockband heeft de single Does Bowie, waarop deze twee tracks staan, beschikbaar via deze locatie. Kortom, een mooie manier van Classless Act om Bowie weer in de spotlight te zetten.
