Emerging act FORSMÁN (pronounced “fors-mown”) have officially announced their signing to the newly established label Vesperian, alongside the release of their new single, “Andvana.”
Hailing from Kópavogur, Iceland, the young quartet have already begun carving out a place within the country’s formidable black metal landscape. Following their debut EP “Dönsum í logans ljóma,” the band have spent recent months refining their sound and composing new material, efforts that now begin to surface with this latest release.
“Andvana” captures the essence of FORSMÁN’s artistic direction: a chilling, atmosphere-heavy approach fused with tight, forward-driving songwriting. The track channels the spirit of Iceland’s modern black metal movement, echoing the intensity and layered darkness associated with bands such as Svartidauði, Sinmara, and Misþyrming, while still asserting a distinct identity of its own.
Despite their young age, the members of FORSMÁN demonstrate a notable level of musicianship and compositional maturity. “Andvana” stands as a testament to their ambition: cold, precise, and delivered with fierce conviction. It also marks the second single to be released under the Vesperian banner, signaling the label’s intent to spotlight forward-thinking acts within the extreme music spectrum.
With more concrete news expected in the near future, FORSMÁN are clearly positioning themselves as part of a new generation redefining Icelandic black metal.
