The Rasmus presenteert single; inzending Songfestival

Het zou zomaar kunnen dat dit voorjaar in Italië op het Eurovisie Songfestival een inzending komt uit Finland die haast de hele wereld kent. Wie kan immers ‘In The Shadows‘ niet meezingen? Ja die band, The Rasmus dus, heeft zich aangemeld voor de Finse voorrondes en heeft daarom een nieuwe single daar.

Die nieuwe single van The Rasmus gaat op 17 januari verschijnen. De track gaat ‘Jezebel’ heten en is dan via de verschillende streamingsdiensten te beluisteren. Of ‘Jezebel’ een ode is aan ex-Cradle Of Filth-zangeres Sarah Jezebel Deva is niet bekend. Feit is wel dat The Rasmus klaar is om de strijd aan te gaan met de andere inzendingen.

Nieuwe gitariste The Rasmus

De inschrijving voor de voorrondes in hun thuisland middels de aanstaande single is niet het enige nieuws rondom The Rasmus. De band heeft oerlid en gitarist Pauli Rantasalmi zien vertrekken. Hij is opgevolgd door Emilia ‘Emppu’ Suhonen. Als The Rasmus dus straks in Italië schittert, zal zij van de partij zijn.

“I got a very surprising call in the fall and answered YES. Although I was a bit nervous to go to the rehearsal room with the guys for the first time for a test drive, I still had a strong feeling that this would be a good thing. That feeling turned out to be right and playing together felt totally natural right from the first riff. I am The Rasmus’ new guitarist, and it’s pretty insane to be on this ride!”

Emppu startte al als vijf-jarige met het bespelen van de gitaar. Ze was slechts dertien toen ze voor het eerst met een band schitterde op een album. Dat was met de band Tiktak, welke uit is gegroeid tot een grootheid in Finland.

Shows in Europa

In het najaar gaat The Rasmus ook weer langs de Europese podia. Nederland zal dan aangedaan worden in Haarlem. Check hier alle data van de tournee.
