De Italiaanse power/folk/heavy metal formatie Vexillum laat eindelijk, 6 jaar na Unum, weer van zich horen. When Good Men Go To War is het vierde album dat de luisteraar mee neemt op een ‘mystical, dark and vicious voyage across the seas around the world’. Het ‘Fire, blood and steel in ancient times’-concept wordt verpakt in 11 stevige doch catchy songs vol ‘northern-celtic folk melodies’; ‘honour, courage and glory on the battlefield’ derhalve! De eerste single is door Vexillum online gezet.

Vexillum is officieel begonnen in 2007. Daarvoor had de band nog een andere naam. Vexillum heeft voor When A Good Man Goes To War drie langspelers uitgebracht. De eerste verscheen daarvoor The Wandering Notes. Die plaat verscheen in 2011. De band heeft ook al veel ervaring on stage middels shows door heel Europa in het voorprogramma van onder andere Rhapsody en Eluveitie.
