De “nieuwe” Belgische post-hardcore band Killthelogo stelt zich voor middels zijn eerste single-video ‘Riot As One’. Het debuutalbum verschijnt in de zomer en wordt uitgebracht door PIAS. ‘Riot As One‘ was vorige week ‘Catch of the Day‘ bij Studio Brussel (BE).
Killthelogo is herrezen uit de zeer succesvolle crossover/hardcore/nu-metal band .Calibre. Die band maakte in de zeroes furore in eigen land en daarbuiten.
Een stukje muziekgeschiedenis
Het Belgische Facedown was al jaren bekend in het crossover/hardcore/nu-metal underground circuit. Facedown ging verder onder de naam .Calibre. Die bracht in 2002 zijn eerste en enige album ‘Kill The Logo’ uit bij Warner Music. Dat album werd destijds enthousiast onthaald. .Calibre speelde op de grootste festivals in binnen- en buitenland, waaronder op Rock Werchter en Pukkelpop. Ook scoorde de band een ferme hit op Studio Brussel en op TMF.
20 jaar later
Nu, 20 jaar later, is deze maatschappelijk geëngageerde band dus terug als Killthelogo. Dat doen ze met een nieuwe single ‘Riot As One’. Dat nummer past perfect bij de huidige tijdsgeest. Het is een krachtig nummer dat oproept om een vuist te maken tegen het systeem: “It feels like the entire world is marching against something. Imagine all of our fractional movements converging into one harmonious organism of resistance; against the ruling strategies of division and control. /riotAsOne.”
“Killthelogo seeks to help translate the drivers of social and political change to the larger public. As a branch in the wide scope of artistic expression, we want to be an extra and loud voice in the social debate and the ‘separation of powers’ that safeguards the balance in society.”
