Het is al heel indrukwekkend als Epica het nummer ‘Rivers’ zelf speelt, maar als ook Apocalyptica mee komt doen, wordt het wel heel speciaal. Dat is gebeurd op de tournee van deze bands samen, welke onder andere ook in Amsterdam neer is gestreken.
De video van ‘Rivers’ toont hoe sterk Epica live is en hoe passend de rol van Apocalyptica is. Het had zo op de meest recente release van Epica kunnen staan. Op The Alchemy Project speelde de Nederlandse symfonische metalband namelijk nummers met bijdrages van andere muzikanten daarbij. Check hier eerst de livevideo voor ‘Rivers’.

Coen Janssen laat hierover weten: “To play with these legendary musicians on our biggest indoor show in the Netherlands was a dream come true.” Waarop Mark Jansen toevoegt: “To perform with Apocalyptica added an extra layer of pure magic to the song. Not only are these guys great musicians but also on a personal level, we match very well with these lovely people. Therefore, it was particularly special to perform ‘Rivers’ with them and we are very proud to present you the result of this collaboration in the form of our live performance.”
De tournee van Epica en Apocalyptica gaat overmorgen weer verder. Dan start het tweede deel van deze tournee in Hannover te Duitsland. Na meerdere shows in Duitsland gaan de bands langs meerdere landen in Centraal-Europa, om vervolgens wel weer in Duitsland te eindigen. Nederland en België staan voor dit blok niet op het programma.
