Quodac unveil intense new single “Straight Forward” ahead of upcoming EP Ghost Thoughts

Leestijd: 3 minuten

Belgian alternative metal band Quodac have released their new single “Straight Forward”, offering the first glimpse into their upcoming EP Ghost Thoughts, set for release in October 2026.

Emerging from the Hainaut region’s underground scene (Belgium), Quodac continue to refine a sound that blends the weight of metalcore with the atmospheric depth of progressive and alternative metal. Drawing comparisons to acts such as System Of a Down, Karnivool, and Killswitch Engage, the band’s latest material pushes further into darker, more conceptual territory.

“Straight Forward” explores the descent into psychological fragmentation, depicting a narrator increasingly consumed by inner demons and distorted perception. The track balances aggressive instrumentation with moments of restraint, creating a dynamic tension that mirrors its lyrical themes of mental unraveling.

The single marks the beginning of a larger conceptual work. Ghost Thoughts, the band’s second EP, is described as both more structured and more emotionally dense than their previous release. The project was developed over several months of intensive writing, closed studio sessions, and live testing, reflecting a meticulous approach to songwriting and arrangement.

Self-produced, Ghost Thoughts underscores Quodac’s commitment to artistic independence. The EP will feature five tracks “Empty,” “Lost,” “Steps,” “Straight Forward,” and “Chains”, each contributing to a narrative exploring psychological distress and inner conflict.

About Quodac

Formed in late 2021, Quodac initially started as a four-piece before expanding into its current five-member lineup featuring Rémi Liekens (vocals), Antoine Martin (guitar), Nicolas Dosimont (guitar), Jeremy Debroux (drums), and Valentin Massart (bass). The band has steadily built a reputation across Belgium’s live circuit, performing in venues and festivals across Wallonia, Flanders, and Brussels.

Following their 2024 debut EP Hans vs. Javier: The Battle of the Mascots and the single “Denied,” Quodac are now preparing for what looks to be a breakthrough year. With Ghost Thoughts, the band signals a clear step forward in both ambition and sonic identity: heavier and darker.

“Straight Forward” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
